gim (laver)

When we went to Sunchang Gochujang Village, we bought some Deodeog and Mu u. Because it was delicious so went back there again. If you go there, they will serve you some of the side dishes they sell. You can have a taste of all the side dishes.

They even serve some drinks. When i had a taste of the gim (laver), i also decided to buy because it's delicious.

A jar of gim is just $10. It's cheaper than buying gim in the market because it is pressed hard. You can't even recognize that there are two pieces of gim when you eat and it's hard to separate them.

The gim is seasoned with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, sugar, sesame seeds, glutinous starch syrup, anchovy, etc...

soegogi deungsim

After work, hubby asked me what i wanted to eat. I said i wasn't craving for anything so he searched on the net to find a restaurant and food to eat. He knows some good sites posting the famous restaurants and food. Last night, he called the restaurant and made a reservation for two. We ordered this soegogi (beef) deungsim (back side).

He also wanted to eat frest beef but it was already sold out. Hajuma said that there were many customers came that day. After paying the bill, my hubby said to hajuma that we will go back there this weekend with my inlaws. Then hajuma gave her business card and told hubby to make a reservation earlier so that he can keep good quality beef for him.

Well, isn't it obvious that hubby enjoyed the food? hehehe...

genyip chicken

Whenever i'm tired or don't wann cook dinner, we always order chicken. Eventhough we want different food but most restaurants don't deliver around 10p.m. So when hubby dial the phone, i'm sure he's ordering chicken. As you know i've already posted diffrent kinds of chicken that we ordered like this chicken with rice cake, my favorite red combo chicken, and this chickens that i've already collected 10 coupons and changed it to whole chicken. But we've never tried this genyip (sesame leaves) chicken. So, we ordered it.

The green color the you see is the genyip. This chicken last for almost a week before we can eat all. Maybe you know what i mean. This one is not as delicious as others. It's cheap, though.

When you order chicken here, it always comes with this radish pickles.

Btw, this menu also comes with vegetable salad but i couldn't take a picture of it because hubby already touched it. That's because he was already starving so he couldn't wait for me. hehehe...

cheers!

Time flies! Christmas is coming again. Everyone is very busy doing lots of stuffs. Preparing christmas decors, buying cards, gifts, and of course attending some parties. Party is the one that i always wait for during this holiday season because i know that party is not complete without wine. It is what makes the party more special.

Oh, before i forgot. Our wedding anniversary is coming, too. It is before Christmas, would you believe that? And now i'm planning to buy either a red wine or a white wine to make our anniversary more romantic.

I will be very busy this week preparing for our anniversary and attending some parties. And I haven't bought any presents for my in laws, yet. Luckily, my in laws like drinking. Since i'm going to get wine for our anniversary so this Christmas, i'm thinking of getting wine for my inlaws, too. I'm sure they will like the merlot and chardonnay.

Soondae

Soondae is also called a korean sausage. It is filled with noodles (made of mixed rice and potato)and blood. It is eaten with salt mixed with black pepper and kochugaro (red hot pepper powder) and chokochujang.

It is a popular snack food sold by various restaurants and street vendors. When you buy soondae, they usually ask if you want it with some inner parts like intestine, liver and lungs. Hubby doesn't like those parts but i do. So, when we eat soondae, hubby has the black ones and i have the rest. hehehe..

This delicious soondae is eaten at the restaurant. And would you believe that it was free when we ate soondae gukbap and naejang gukbap? I love that restaurant and want to go back there soon! hehe...

naejang kukbap

Naejang means the internal organs. Gukbap means rice and soup. Naejang gukbap is soup of internal organs like liver, intestines, etc with rice. It may sounds and seems strange for you but you will like it and crave for it as soon as you have a taste of it.

Doesn't it look delicious? I had this soup with soondae and soondae gukbap.

soondae gukbap

Before we just depend on watching tv where they show the famous restaurants and their menu. But now, my hubby found out a site on the web where the famous restaurants are listed. So during the weekend, if we didn't go out for a trip, we sometimes go the restaurant and try the food show on tv or listed on the internet.

Two weeks ago, we went to one of the restaurants but it was closed because it was Sunday. Last Saturday, we went back again and ordered soondae gukbap for hubby and naejang gukbap for me.

Here's the soondae gukbap.

Hubby had a talk to the owner and hubby said that we found the restaurant on the net. When i started to take some pictures, the owner knew that i'm also going to post it on the net so he gave us this cola for free. hehe.. Soondae is also free for all customers.

Wedding reception

We got three wedding invitations in three consecutive weeks. It is a buffet style reception and there's a lot of food to choose of. Different kinds of porridge, drinks, snacks, meat, beef, seafoods, salad, fruits, bread, etc. Here's what we had last week. Hubby and I just shared the food. He chose the beef and vegetable salad while i chose the meat and some bread and fruits.

There's also drinks on the table like soda, beer and soju (korean alcohol) on the table. We chose soda because we both don't drink alcohol or beer.

duck barbecue

I love barbecue but i haven't tried duck barbecue until we went to Mogpo. We went there to have seafoods but since it was summer and not time for seafoods that's why we ended up eating this duck barbecue.

Duck menu is very expensive here because Koreans believed that ducks give more nutritions to our body. Hubby doesn't like ducks much but because we were with our inlaws so we had no choice but to follow what the olds want.

Here's the picture of the duck barbecue.

chicken w/ rice cake

Now we found out another store in our neighborhood selling delicious chicken menu. Everytime i come home from work, i see some advertisement posted in front of our door. Advertisements of some newly opened stores, restaurants or stores that offer sale products.

When i saw the picture of this advertisement, i just waited for hubby and didn't prepare dinner. When he came home, i said i wanted to try this chicken so he called the store and ordered this.

It is a boneless chicken with rice cake. Yummy!
